QUALITY ART WORKS IN GLASS AND BRONZE BY ARTISTS WITH A PASSION FOR THE POWER OF FIRE
Bronze Penguin gets lots of love
It was a thrilling day for both artist and art when one of my pieces was donated to the Sacramento Zoo by the Michael Gill family from Elk Grove, CA. The piece, named "Dedication" by Zoo officials, was installed outdoors between two benches near the temporary penguin exhibit.

| The piece was cast and finished at Frostad Atelier, a woman-owned foundry located at McClellan Air Force Business Park. Immediately after the piece was unveiled and photos taken, scores of children gathered around the child-friendly piece and petted his head and gave him hugs. This is exactly what donor Michael Gill, the father of two young boys wanted to see. "This is perfect, to see children interacting with art," he said. "It's one thing that drew me to the piece and I am pleased to see this happening." The Sacramento zoo and I are most grateful to Michael Gill for his generous donation. Michael is an accomplished digital artist - a painter whose works are extremely masterful. He is a member of the Elk Grove Arts Commission. | Discovering the Depths of Glass Rene' is creating a new series of complex and demanding pieces from the Deep Blue Sea. The tropical fish gleam |

Glass blowing requires keeping the glass at exacting temperatures and in constant motion. The fish and corals that accompany these pieces are singular gems and no two pieces will ever be exactly alike. Rene' has combined two skills to produce this new series. The glass is blown, but it is also sculpted, pulled and manipulated into shape. All this happens while being constantly aware of the temperature and handling of the blow pipe. Look for an oceanic landscape soon on bronzeandglass.com as Rene' explores the depths of glass blowing and experiments with new colors, techniques and ideas.
